We are seeking a motivated and reliable Stores, Supplies & Logistics Operative to join our Stores and Logistics Team. Reporting to and working under the day-to-day guidance of the Supplies Team Leader
, you will play a key role in delivering a professional, efficient, and cost-effective stores, supplies, and logistics service.

This role is essential in ensuring materials, equipment, and stock are managed effectively to support operational teams while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer service. You will contribute to achieving performance targets and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, Council policies, and industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Issue and receive goods, materials, and stock items accurately and efficiently.
  • Carry out stores documentation checks and maintain accurate records.
  • Audit stock materials and investigate discrepancies when identified.
  • Monitor stock usage levels and support effective stock control.
  • Process stock replenishment requests, low-value orders, and collection orders.
  • Expedite stock and low-value orders to meet operational requirements.
  • Maintain organised, safe, clean, and tidy stores and yard areas.
  • Input stores documentation electronically and ensure data accuracy.
  • Check and verify outputs from the supplies management system.
  • Erect shelving and label materials to support efficient stock management.
  • Work closely with operational teams to define, install, manage, and amend vehicle stock levels to meet service needs.
  • Undertake visual inspections of tools and equipment.
  • Operate plant and machinery as required, including forklift trucks (where trained and authorised).
  • Assist in maintaining the security of stores, materials, and equipment at all times.
  • Contribute positively as part of the wider Stores and Logistics Team.
What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a stores, warehouse, logistics, or stock control environment.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and use electronic stock management systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and stock management.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy operational environment.
  • Forklift Truck certification (desirable but not essential).
