Procurement Manager
- Annual Salary: 40,000 - 50,000
- Location:
Sheffield - Job Type: Full-time
- Hours:
Days-based role with early finish on Fridays
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead and manage the purchasing, supply chain, and subcontract procurement functions, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to achieve optimal quality, cost, delivery, and service performance.
- Oversee supply chain operations, monitoring KPIs and implementing improvements to drive efficiency, productivity, and performance.
- Set departmental strategy, goals, and priorities, ensuring effective planning, resource allocation, and project delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, embedding processes and best practices across the supply chain function.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team through performance management, recruitment, training, and succession planning.
- Collaborate closely with operational and commercial teams to support business growth and customer requirements.
- Identify risks and challenges proactively, presenting practical, commercially focused solutions and recommendations.
Required Skills &
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership experience within purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong track record of managing supplier performance, cost control, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Experience leading and developing teams, with excellent people management and communication skills.
- Demonstrable success in project planning, implementation, and delivering business improvements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with a commercial mindset.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Office applications.
- CIPS qualification or equivalent professional procurement qualification is desirable.
