Maintenance Assistant NHS AfC Band 3

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (8:00 am – 4:00 pm).

Location:

Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. Salary: £25,760 – £27,476 per annum (pro rata for part time).

Join the Estates Management Team to maintain and develop the Trust’s substantial estate at one of the country’s foremost Teaching Foundation Trusts.

• Maintain the Trust’s building fabric, engineering plant, building services and equipment in an efficient, economic and safe manner, in accordance with Health & Safety and other relevant regulations.
• Carry out general housekeeping duties to ensure acceptable cleanliness of workshop and plant rooms.
• Operate steam raising boiler plant, rotating duties in a team to cover this area.
• Undertake unsupervised minor repairs and maintenance across the site.
• Inspect plant and equipment regularly and promptly report irregularities.

• GCSE C/4 or above in English and Mathematics or equivalent qualification (Key skills level
  2).
• An engineering background or qualification.

• Experience in building services maintenance environment.
• Ability to safely and competently carry out work or other trades.

• Basic Health & Safety.
• 18th Edition Awareness Training.
• First Aid.
• Boiler house, Pressure Systems and Pressure Management Training.
• Portable Appliance Testing.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work to tight and conflicting priorities.
