Caretaker​/Cleaner

Required to start in September 2026, subject to all necessary checks. 16 ¼ hours per week (3 ¼ hours per day 3pm-6.15pm). Grade 4 SCP 9-12 £ 13.50 per hour - Actual Salary £10,259. 39 weeks per year plus an additional 2 weeks in summer holidays.

We are looking for a committed team member to join our happy and dedicated school family to provide caretaking duties at the end of the school day.

It is the responsibility of the school caretaker/cleaner to maintain and secure the school premises, ensuring a safe, clean and functional environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

The role includes all in‑school cleaning, building maintenance and supervision of external contractors.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• a high standard of hygiene
• good organisational skills (ordering equipment and products)
• knowledge of intruder alarms and heating systems
• good knowledge of health and safety matters
• understanding of safe working methods in accordance with COSHH assessments
• ability to work successfully in a team with other staff

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
