Facilities Officer

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Facilities Officer to join Sheffield City Council on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

* Monitoring and maintaining high standards of building cleanliness, safety, and presentation.

* Supporting the management of contracted services, including cleaning, security, waste management, and grounds maintenance.

* Undertaking building inspections and reporting defects or maintenance issues.

* Assisting with health and safety compliance, including audits, risk assessments, and statutory checks.

* Responding to customer enquiries and resolving facilities-related issues.

* Supporting office moves, events, and changes to building layouts.

* Managing service records and maintaining accurate documentation.

* Working collaboratively with contractors and service providers to ensure performance standards are met.

* Assisting with emergency response arrangements and business continuity plans where required.

Essential Requirements

* Has experience working within a facilities management, property, building services, or operational environment.

* Possesses excellent communication and customer service skills.

* Can build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers, and contractors.

* Has strong organisational skills and is able to manage competing priorities.

* Demonstrates a practical approach to problem-solving.

* Is confident using Microsoft Office applications and electronic record systems.

* Has a good understanding of health and safety principles and compliance requirements.

* Is committed to delivering excellent public services.
