We are currently recruiting for Site Manager to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire. About

The Role

As a Site Supervisor, you will:

  • Be responsible for leading operational teams within a defined catchment, ensuring seamless end-to-end management of all works while delivering an exceptional customer journey.
  • Ensure everyone within your team is performing their responsibilities.
  • Carrying out site inspections, coordinating the crews from your depot, managing any fleet issues as well as evaluating employee performance.
  • Work with the Senior Management Team, Client and Local Authority to agree extent of works and maintain relationships throughout.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
  • Experience and ability to encourage and enable personal development.
  • Work closely with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Lanes Group and its customers.
  • Lead and control Civils Operatives and Gangers engaged in all activities concerned with the civil works aspects of the contract, optimising resources by ensuring that the work is scheduled out appropriately with the assistance of the scheduling team.
  • Responsible for managing the teams fleet/plant and material requirements to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works.
  • Produce method statements and procedures, read and understand specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related to work and engineering documentation.
  • Keep records of all work completed and update client systems in real time.
  • Commands respect of their workforce and develops excellent working relationships with all other department personnel as well as client management.
  • Communicate confidently, liaising both with internal and external clients.
  • Give instructions in an efficient and effective way to the workforce and responsible for the daily management of the teams.
  • Read and interpret drawings, including excavation dimensions, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixtures, location, and placement of pipe sections and understand shoring designs.
  • Ensure that work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment, and materials, prevent wastage and misuse.
  • Supervise work crews to best utilise manpower and materials, exercising discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.
  • Be familiar with all HS&E and Quality procedures, regulations and enforce them with the workforce under responsibility.
  • Responsible for the day to day well being of the teams, identifying, formulating, and implementing training programs.
  • Comply with the highest level of safety during all stages of work to avoid any type of incidents or accidents.
About You

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Possess previous experience of supervision within the Waste Water Industry.
  • Hold a full UK driving license.
  • This role is about managing people, so previous managerial experience is essential.
  • Have excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, with ability to deliver tasks by deadline.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving targets.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on achieving results.
  • Proven experience in a previous Supervisor Role within the Utilities Sector – preferably in the Drainage Industry.
Working Hours & Location
  • Shift pattern:
    Monday to Friday 47.5 hours per week.
  • Salary: £38,000 - £45,000.
