Must have a valid SC clearanceThis is an exciting opportunity to join HMRC’s Insider Risk Mitigation Team (IRMT) driving continuous improvement, to ensure HMRC strive to change the culture of personnel security across the department. Driving continuous improvements to personnel security, reduces the risk of 'insiders' exploiting their legitimate access to HMRC's assets for unauthorised purposes.
Role Responsibilities- Data Analysis:
Analyse multiple sets of data and databases to identify patterns, draw insights, extract metrics and develop effective solutions to support operational delivery. - Strategic Awareness:
Maintain an understanding of HMRC priorities and remain alert to emerging issues and trends that may impact your area of responsibility. - Systems and Service Management:
Develop, implement, maintain, and review systems and services to ensure high standards of performance and professional excellence. - Risk Identification and Issue Management:
Identify risks promptly and raise issues efficiently, engaging a diverse range of colleagues, stakeholders, and partners to develop practical improvements. - Leadership and Empowerment:
Understand your level of responsibility and empower others to make decisions where appropriate, fostering a culture of accountability. - Evidence-Based Decision Making:
Analyse and use a range of credible information from internal and external sources to support decisions. Encourage constructive challenge and involve others in decision-making where appropriate.
- Holds current and valid National Security Vetting at SC-level (minimum).

Skills:
Ability to analyse multiple datasets, identify patterns and insights, extract metrics, and apply structured problem solving to assess risks particularly insider risk controls and support operational decision making. - Strong Communication and Interpersonal
Skills:
Skilled at communicating complex information clearly, producing high-quality written outputs (including data reports and organisational learning products), and effectively engaging stakeholders of all grades. Experience leading or contributing to workshops and managing expectations across diverse audiences. - Strategic Awareness:
Ability to understand organisational priorities, anticipate emerging trends or risks, and assess their impact on your area of responsibility. - Systems and Service Management:
Experience developing, maintaining, reviewing, and improving systems or services to ensure high performance and professional standards. - Risk Identification and Issue Management:
Proven capability to identify risks early, raise issues promptly, and collaborate with colleagues and partners to develop practical, proportionate improvements. - Evidence-Based Decision Making:
Ability to gather, analyse, and use credible information from internal and external sources to support decisions, encourage constructive challenge, and involve others appropriately. - Organisation and Delivery:
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain momentum on multiple tasks, and deliver to deadlines with minimal supervision. - Stakeholder
Collaboration:
Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships, contributing to and supporting collaboration across teams involved in insider risk activity. - Proficient IT
Skills:
Proficient user of the O365 and Power Platform suite and able to use digital tools effectively to support analysis, reporting, collaboration, and operational delivery. - Customer Focus: A commitment to delivering high-quality services and meeting the needs of customers and stakeholders.
