A client within the Public Sector based in Sheffield is currently recruiting for aFire Safety Service Manager to join their Housing and Neighbourhoods team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority in a housing or fire safety compliance environment.

The Role

The key purpose of the role is to provide strategic leadership and operational management of fire safety services across the city, ensuring compliance with legislation, high-quality service delivery, and the development of long-term fire safety strategies.

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring the Fire Safety Strategy and associated policies.
  • Leading the programme of risk assessments, audits, and remedial actions.
  • Overseeing fire safety works across housing properties and multi-occupied buildings.
  • Providing technical guidance and assurance to senior managers, elected members, and stakeholders.
  • Managing budgets, contracts, and teams to deliver effective, compliant, and value-for-money services.
The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require:

  • Degree-level qualification and/or at least 5 years' experience at a managerial level relevant to fire safety.
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management (or equivalent).
  • Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Building Studies, Construction, or Building Surveying.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

  • Experience of working within a local authority or public sector housing environment.
  • Strong leadership, performance management, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £39 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £29 per hour PAYE).
