Tenancy and Asset Officer - Support Officer

Welwyn Garden City Office-based: 3 fixed days a week - (Fri, Mon, Tues)

22hrs Salary: up to £18.34 per hour About the Role We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Garage Tenancy & Asset Officer to join an Estates team within a local authority setting. This role is responsible for the effective management of the garage portfolio, ensuring sites are well-maintained, tenancies are well-managed, and income is maximised while delivering excellent service to residents.

About You We are looking for someone with experience in housing, estates, or tenancy management who can work independently and deliver a high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of council-owned garages and garage sites Administer garage tenancies, including lettings, renewals, and terminations Monitor and manage rent accounts, including arrears recovery Carry out site inspections to ensure compliance, safety, and upkeep Investigate and resolve tenancy issues, including misuse and anti-social behaviour Work with internal teams and contractors to coordinate repairs and maintenance Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with council policies and procedures Support service improvements and contribute to performance targets Essential skills and experience:

Experience with in a local authority, housing association, or similar environment Knowledge of tenancy or lease management (ideally garage or estate-based)

Experience of rent collection and managing arrears Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to manage a varied caseload and work proactively Good IT skills and experience using housing or asset systems Desirable:
Experience managing garage sites or similar property portfolios Knowledge of social housing legislation or regulation Experience dealing with anti-social behaviour or enforcement
