Operations Manager

Tinnitus UK is looking for an experienced, ambitious and highly organised Operations Manager to join our senior team and play a key role in the leadership and future development of the charity.

You will work closely with our CEO, Board of Trustees and colleagues across the organisation to help turn our ambitions into action and ensure Tinnitus UK has the strong foundations, systems and ways of working it needs to succeed and to best support people living with tinnitus, and those who support them.

You will be an important link between the staff team and Board, bringing insight, challenge and practical solutions to organisational decision-making. You will lead and develop a small team, build strong relationships with external partners and suppliers, and take ownership of a broad portfolio spanning finance, governance, people, systems, risk, compliance and organisational improvement.

We are looking for someone who enjoys making organisations work better: someone who can see the bigger picture while also making sure the detail is right. You will be comfortable moving between strategic conversations with the CEO and Trustees and the practical work required to make things happen.

You do not need to be an expert in tinnitus. What matters is that you share our values, are motivated by our purpose and want to use your operational leadership to help Tinnitus UK achieve more for people affected by tinnitus.

About the role

As Operations Manager, you will provide leadership across Tinnitus UK's internal operations, ensuring we have robust systems, financial oversight, governance, people processes and infrastructure in place to deliver our strategy.

Working closely with the CEO, you will translate organisational priorities into effective plans and ways of working. You will help create clarity across the organisation, identify risks and opportunities, make sure decisions are followed through and drive continuous improvement.

You will also play an important role in ensuring that Tinnitus UK is ready for the future: improving organisational resilience, strengthening our infrastructure and helping us develop the capacity to grow our reach and impact.

About you

We are looking for an experienced operations professional who enjoys making organisations work better and wants to take significant responsibility within a national charity.

You will be proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable bringing structure to complexity. You can see the bigger picture while making sure the detail is right, manage competing priorities and take ownership of work through to delivery.

You will be confident working with colleagues at all levels, from supporting and developing your team to discussing finance, governance and organisational priorities with the CEO and Trustees. You will build trusted relationships with external partners and suppliers and be comfortable offering constructive challenge when needed.

You will bring experience across a number of areas including organisational operations, financial management, project and change management, governance and risk, people management, suppliers and contracts, and organisational systems or CRM platforms.

Experience with in the charity sector, membership organisations, digital transformation, events or professional education would be valuable, as would experience working closely with a CEO, senior leadership team or Board.

Most importantly, you will be collaborative, pragmatic and dependable, with the confidence to take ownership, maintain high standards and help create an organisation in which people can do their best work.
