Position
We are seeking a motivated individual to join the team as a Production Operative and Humper at our Bodmin site.
This is a full time, permanent position working in our Slaughtering Department. Starting at 6.30am and working until production finishes Monday to Friday, with a salary of £12.75 per hour.
Responsibilities- Scribe and split beef into quarters and rehang hind quarters as directed by their supervisor, to customer specification.
- Be able to lift weights and be able to move around the factory floor without assistance for the shift duration.
- Be familiar with the daily production plan and work as part of the team to set up the line, complete checks and ensuring materials are ready to up.
- Perform all prestart, hygiene and safety checks as directed.
- Report all breakages, damages, or defaults of equipment to the Line Supervisor, ensuring all equipment/machinery is only used when it is safe to use. Record checks as and when directed.
- Ensure that the product is of the highest standard and report any issues to the Line supervisor immediately.
- Reporting any accidents or near misses is expected and assistance with any investigation is a prerequisite of the Company’s safety policy.
- Always adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Act in a responsible manner following all safety regulations; safe work practices, SOP’s, TBRA’s and never risking one’s own safety.
- Ensure compliance with PPE policies and procedures.
- Other duties will be part of the role from time to time – this will be specified by your direct line Supervisor.
- Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out of specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the food production industry is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Understanding of and commitment to following health and safety regulations.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as required.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
