Job Overview

Are you a Production Manager who has a strong furniture background with a six sigma belt? If so, we are working with a well‑established and growing furniture manufacturer seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and optimise their production operations. This is a key leadership role suited to someone with a strong background in Lean manufacturing and a deep understanding of furniture production processes.

As Production Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the production floor, ensuring efficiency, quality, and on‑time delivery. You'll play a critical role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and embedding Lean principles across the operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and develop production teams to achieve output, quality, and safety targets
  • Implement and drive Lean manufacturing practices
  • Oversee production planning and scheduling to meet customer demand and deadlines
  • Monitor KPIs and production performance, identifying areas for improvement
  • Work closely with design, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure smooth end‑to‑end operations
  • Maintain high standards of quality control in line with furniture manufacturing specifications
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and promote a safe working culture
  • Manage budgets, resources, and operational costs effectively
About You
  • Proven experience as a Production Manager (or similar) within furniture manufacturing or a related sector
  • Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with Lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Solid understanding of woodworking, upholstery, or furniture assembly processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive performance improvements
  • Data‑driven mindset with experience tracking and improving KPIs
  • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
