Position Overview

We are looking for a Heat Treatment Operative to operate heat‑treatment equipment and produce hardened steel rolls.

Role Responsibilities

As a trainee burner in the foundry frontend, you will report directly to the Foundry Shift Manager and clean/burn all scrap off of castings – including feeder heads, padding and runner systems. You will clean castings with a pecker, prepare them for burning, and use oxy‑propane burners, burning guns and oxy‑lances. Lancing ladles will be opened when casting.

  • Assist in slinging castings ready to be set up for burning
  • General casting duties
  • Work safely at all times
About You

For internal applicants training will be provided. The following skills, knowledge and experience are required:

  • Maintain a high level of health and safety for yourself and others
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends and unsociable hours when necessary
Days/Hours of Work

Normal working hours will be 40 per week, including paid breaks.
