Are you an experienced operative looking to build your career in a fast-paced, heavy engineering environment? We're recruiting a Forge (Press) Operative to join a dynamic production team, working with high-capacity forging equipment and supporting critical manufacturing processes.
Benefits:
Salary: £14.50 to £17.70 per hour DOE plus 17% shift allowance

Shifts:
Days/Afters & Nights Rotating across all 3 shifts
Hours:
37.5 hours per week

The Role
As a Forge (Press) Operative, you'll be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used to shape and form metal components to precise specifications. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Operate large-scale presses including 5600T, 1500T, and 600T machines
Support production processes such as:
Andromat operation
Furnace and forge control room management
Pyrometry checks
Trim, punch, and knockdown operations
Carry out visual and dimensional inspections to ensure quality standards are met
Perform pre-shift checks (FLT, cranes, hoists, etc.)
Assist with tooling and die building
Maintain housekeeping standards (5S)
Complete preventative maintenance checks
Ensure strict adherence to health & safety and quality procedures
What We're Looking For:
Experience in a forging or pressing environment (desirable)
Background in a medium to heavy manufacturing setting
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Flexible approach to shift work and varied responsibilities
Basic knowledge of computer-controlled systems
Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment (training available)
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mind-set
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
FLT/Crane/Hoist experience
