We’re currently recruiting for skilled CNC Machinists to join a range of established engineering and manufacturing businesses across various industries across Sheffield.
We’re looking for experienced CNC Millers and CNC Turners, with opportunities available on days and a variety of shift patterns. These roles offer excellent earning potential, opportunities to work on interesting and technically challenging projects, and long term opportunities for development and progression.
The Role
Depending on your experience and specialism, your responsibilities may include:
Working to tight tolerances on small-batch and bespoke work
Setting and operating a range of CNC turning machines
Setting and operating a range of CNC milling machines
Working with CNC controls including Heidenhain, Fanuc, Siemens and similar systems
Reading, interpreting and working from engineering drawings
Setting and operating vertical borers
Machining a variety of castings, forgings and fabrications
Working with a wide range of materials including steel, duplex, copper, titanium and other specialist materials
Using overhead cranes safely and effectively
Carrying out quality checks to ensure components meet required specifications
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
About You
Previous experience as a CNC Miller, CNC Turner or both
Strong experience in setting and operating CNC machinery
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience working to tight tolerances
Knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain or similar
Experience machining a variety of materials
A strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
