H&H Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Welder to join a well-established manufacturing business in Sheffield, specialising in the production of high-quality steel castings for a range of industries.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder looking for a Monday to Friday day-shift position, working on a varied range of welding and repair work.

As a Welder, you will be responsible for the repair and fabrication welding of steel castings, working to approved welding procedures and demanding quality standards.

Your duties will include:

• Welding using MMA, TIG and MAG processes
• Repair welding on carbon and stainless-steel castings
• Reading and working from weld maps, engineering drawings and welding procedures
• Preparing components for welding, including grinding, gouging and joint preparation
• Carrying out visual inspections and identifying weld defects
• Working to customer specifications and company quality standards
• Maintaining welding equipment and keeping your working area clean and safe
• Working closely with supervisors, inspectors and the quality team to meet production requirements
• Following all Health & Safety procedures and wearing the required PPE

Essential:

• Proven experience in MMA or TIG welding
• Experience with MAG welding
• Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols
• Experience working to approved welding specifications
• Good understanding of welding safety and fabrication practices
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

• ISO 9606-1 and/or ASME IX welding qualifications
• Previous experience repairing steel castings
• Knowledge of pre-heating and interpass temperature control
• Overhead crane and/or forklift experience

• £15.00 - £19.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill level
