Location: Based at our workshop in Sheffield
Hours: Full time – 38 hours per week
Salary: Up to £30,000 depending on experience
Holiday: 23 days + bank holidays, increasing with service
Reports to: General Manager

SPIRAC Screen Co is a leading provider of innovative screening solutions, supplying high-quality products to customers across a range of industries worldwide.

We're looking for a Mechanical Assembler to join our workshop team. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys working with tools, machinery and engineering components and takes pride in producing work to a high standard.

You’ll play an important part in assembling our screening products, as well as helping to keep the workshop, stock and goods‑in/goods‑out processes running smoothly.

Your role will be varied, practical and hands‑on. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assemble screens and components accurately using engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use a range of hand and power tools.
• Check your work to ensure products meet the required quality standards.
• Receive, check and store incoming materials and components.
• Carry out regular stock checks and help maintain accurate stock records.
• Check goods coming into and leaving the workshop, reporting any discrepancies or damage.
• Keep stock areas organised and efficient.
• Help maintain a clean, tidy and safe workshop environment.
• Clean and organise work areas after each project.
• Support workshop safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
• Paint components and parts when required, ensuring a quality finish.
• Follow appropriate safety procedures when handling paints and associated materials.

• Follow quality control procedures throughout the assembly process.
• Identify and resolve issues that could affect the quality of the finished product.
• Take pride in producing work that meets the required standards.

We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable and enjoys working with their hands.

You should be comfortable using hand and power tools and have the ability to understand and work from engineering drawings and instructions.

You’ll need to be:

• Practical and mechanically minded.
• Reliable and organised.
• Comfortable working in a workshop environment.
• Able to work accurately and pay attention to detail.
• Physically fit enough to carry out the requirements of the role.
• A team player who is happy to get stuck in and help wherever needed.
• Committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Previous mechanical assembly or engineering experience would be an advantage, but we’re also happy to consider someone with the right practical skills, attitude and willingness to learn.
