Fabricator Welder

At Sheffield Forge masters we have an exciting opportunity for a Fabricator Welder to join our team.

This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, and will be working as part of our Machine Shops Maintenance Engineering team.

Our Machine Shops offer rough machining and finish machining to exacting tolerances, including complex shapes such as reactor heads for nuclear applications. The department hosts a vast array of milling, turning, boring and finishing machinery including the UK’s largest Vertical Turning Lathe and Horizontal Floor Borer.

As a Fabricator Welder
, you will deliver safe, compliant and high-quality fabrication and welding activities in support of machine shop operations and wider manufacturing requirements. You will play an important role in maintaining equipment, supporting repairs and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the Machine Shops.

• Carrying out fabrication and welding activities to support Machine Shop operations and maintenance requirements.
• Completing repairs, modifications and planned work in line with safety, quality and productivity standards.
• Preparing and welding components using approved procedures, equipment and consumables.
• Using measuring equipment, hand tools and lifting equipment safely and effectively.
• Supporting continuous improvement, 5S activities and high housekeeping standards.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across Maintenance, Engineering and Production teams.

• Qualified and experienced in fabrication and welding within a manufacturing, engineering or heavy industrial environment.
• Able to work from technical drawings, welding procedures and work instructions.
• Committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and workmanship.
• A proactive team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible, reliable and keen to contribute to continuous improvement activities.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 0745-4pm.
