Overview

The Content Marketing Executive role supports the delivery of audience‑first written content tailored for channels such as email, advertising, social media and print. The role is part of the Marketing team and will create and proof‑read copy for prospective students, academics and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be a creative writer who can produce engaging and effective content and bring forward ideas to develop existing communications to better match the needs of our audiences.

The role also involves planning and delivering prospective student email campaigns and working closely with recruitment and other marketing teams to meet planned marketing activity and CRM technical requirements.

Main Duties And Responsibilities
  • Write inspiring and informative copy for email, web, social and print aligned with audience information needs throughout their journey.
  • Apply the University’s tone of voice consistently across all communications.
  • Interpret content needs from various university departments and collaborate with peers to develop resonant content.
  • Use project management skills to ensure timely delivery of multiple copy requests.
  • Act as proof‑reader and provide an extra pair of eyes across the department.
  • Populate templates with agreed messaging in partnership with Recruitment Development and Marketing teams to align with planned activities and CRM requirements.
  • Guard the brand by ensuring accurate and consistent representation within brand and reputation guidelines.
  • Attend events and other critical business activities throughout the year, including evenings and weekends when required.

Qualifications Essential
  • Good honours degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience writing excellent content across digital, social, email and print assets.
  • Ability to adapt content to different audiences.
  • A creative, design‑led approach with strong copy‑writing skills.
  • Effective project management skills with the capacity to prioritise multiple projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills for confident verbal and written communication.
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Excellent proofreading skills and familiarity with proofreading tools.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft and Google packages.
Desirable
  • Understanding of relevant audiences and demographic profiles.
Salary

£27,319 – £31,236 per annum, with the potential to progress to £33,951 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution.
