Occupational Health Nurse Advisor
Location: SheffieldSalary: £43,000-£50,000 DOEHybrid: 1 day per week from home
We're recruiting an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to join a well-established onsite OH service supporting a large industrial environment. This is a varied, nurse-led role offering autonomy, strong clinical variety, and the opportunity to shape health and wellbeing across a complex, high-risk site.
The Role
In this position, you will provide a mix of clinical assessments, case management, and health surveillance, typically including:
- Delivering a full range of OH services, ensuring compliance with company policies and governance standards
- Sickness absence referrals (approx. 3-12 per week), triage, and return-to-work recommendations
- Health surveillance including audiometry, spirometry, D&A testing and vision screening
- Supporting workplace wellbeing, health promotion, and risk reduction initiatives
- Inputting into workplace risk assessments and advising on work-related ill health
- Working closely with the OH Physician, Physio and wider team, deputising as required
You'll join a supportive team structure including an OH Manager, full-time OHN, trainee nurse, part-time admin support, outsourced physio and physician cover.
About You
We're looking for an OH professional who is confident working autonomously in a fast-paced industrial setting, with:
- NMC registration
- Occupational Health qualification (certificate/diploma/degree)
- Experience in audiometry & spirometry
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with staff on the shop floor
- Desirable: HAVS Tier 3 qualification, experience in immunisations and industrial vision.
- A values-driven approach: safety, teamwork, visibility, and high clinical standards
Working Pattern
- Full-time, Monday-Friday (37.5 hours)
- Flexible start/finish times
- Hybrid working: 1 day per week from home
- Option for a 4-day compressed week (onsite)
