Job summary

We are seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities (RNLD) with relevant CAMHS or mental health experience to join our multidisciplinary team. Amber is a specialist Community CAMHS day service within Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, supporting children aged 5‑11 with complex mental health needs. This role involves assessment, planning and delivery of care, risk management, care planning and multi‑agency working, with therapeutic interventions in both clinical and community settings.

  • Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessment and management
  • Manage an autonomous caseload of children aged 5‑11 and deliver community‑based interventions
  • Deliver evidence‑based interventions in line with care plans
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people and their families
  • Participate in multi‑agency meetings and partnership working
  • Contribute to safeguarding processes and clinical decision‑making
  • Maintain accurate, timely and high‑quality clinical documentation
  • Actively engage in supervision, reflective practice and service development
Person Specification Qualifications and Training – Essential
  • RMN / RNLD (Mental Health)
  • Post registration clinical training relevant to CAMHS / Mental Health
  • Teaching and Assessing ENB 998 / Mentorship or equivalent
Qualifications and Training – Desirable
  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • Additional vocational training (Solution focused, CBT, Motivational interviewing)
Experience – Essential
  • Significant post‑registration experience within a CAMHS / Mental Health setting
Experience – Desirable
  • Auditing clinical standards
  • Utilisation of research in practice
Knowledge and Skills – Essential
  • Knowledge of a range of therapeutic interventions
  • Legal frameworks relevant to CAMHS
  • Health and safety
