Are you ready to step into a leadership role and make a meaningful impact in diabetes and endocrinology care? We are excited to invite applications for the position of Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our dynamic and supportive team on Vickers 3 at the Northern General Hospital.
Our acute diabetes and endocrinology wards provide high-quality, patient-centred care for individuals with complex medical needs, including those with mental health conditions. Each ward has a unique specialty:
Vickers 3 is the designated haven for individuals with eating disorders, providing holistic and compassionate care tailored to their needs.

Main duties of the jobAs a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in leading, inspiring, and supporting a team of skilled professionals. This position offers the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, influence patient care, and contribute to service development within a thriving, fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for:
Delivering exceptional nursing care, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and compassion.
Leading by example, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.
Supporting the professional development and well‑being of staff through mentorship, appraisals, and education.
Coordinating patient care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Contributing to the implementation of evidence-based practices and innovative approaches to diabetes, endocrinology, and mental health care.
