Greenkeeper

Avisford Park Hotel is located within 60 acres of grounds with 140 bedrooms, 15 meeting rooms and a fully equipped gym and leisure club and golf course for guests to enjoy, something for everyone.

As Greenkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the overall condition of our golf course. Your role will involve caring for the greens, fairways, and bunkers to ensure they meet championship-level standards. You will work as part of a team to implement best practices in turf management, irrigation, and landscaping to provide an outstanding golfing experience.

• Carry out daily maintenance of the golf course, including mowing, aerating, and topdressing greens and fairways.
• Maintain bunkers, pathways, and surrounding landscapes, as well as operating and maintaining specialized turf equipment.
• Manage irrigation systems and ensure proper watering schedules.
• Carry out the application of fertilizers and treatments to maintain healthy turf.
• Ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner and that work areas are left clean and tidy.
• Ensure that there is minimum disruption to guests and members and that all work is of the highest quality and that standards are maintained within the golf course and club.
• Support audits and complete any action points in a timely manner.
• Comply with company and statutory procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
• Support keeping the hotel grounds and courses litter‑free by regular litter picking as your role is based outdoors.

• A passion for golf and an understanding of course playability is an advantage.
• A keen eye for detail, a passion for maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Enjoys being physically active with the ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions.

• Previous experience in golf course maintenance or a similar landscaping role.
• A qualification in sports turf management or a related field is desirable.
• Demonstrable knowledge of turf care, irrigation systems, and the use of golf course machinery.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations.
