Title: Grounds Maintenance Operative

Compensation: Competitive salary with potential yearly reviews and overtime.
Working hours: 40 hours per week.
As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will be essential to maintaining the quality and appearance of parks, open spaces, and highway verges, enhancing the reputation of the Sheffield Account. Your work supports high service standards and promotes community well‑being through safe, attractive green spaces.
What You’ll Do- General maintenance: grass cutting, hedge trimming, clearing leaves and litter, maintaining verges
- Horticulture activities: planting, pruning, and seeding
- Operate light plant and power tools
- Conduct checks on vehicles, tractors, and cutting equipment
- Carry out site gritting and snow clearing activities as weather permits

- Class 2 driving licence with category B+E (trailers)
- Experience operating ride‑on mower equipment
- Basic knowledge of gardening and horticulture operations
- General experience of grounds maintenance duties
- Experience operating light plant and equipment
- Experience with horticulture operations including planting and pruning
- Understanding of Health and Safety legislation, COSHH
- Ability to pass D&A test, Strimmer, Small grounds maintenance plant
- Team player with pride in workmanship and a positive attitude to health & safety
- Advantageous: PA1 & PA6 pesticide training (full training provided)
