OverviewWe are seeking a highly organised and enthusiastic individual; motivated by providing a robust data-driven and evidence based approach to inform the University's student recruitment aims,through collaborative working and with a tireless dedication to excellence.
The Market Research Manager role is intended to further strengthen the student recruitment insight provision offered by Communications and External Relations (CER)
Experience of data analysis and interpretation, alongside confidence in delivering and commissioning market research is essential and we are interested in candidates who have previous experience of project management within this field.
Main duties and responsibilities- Lead on the development of a range of market research projects
- Design, conduct, process and feedback the outcomes of quantitative and qualitative research
- Disseminate market research findings through reports, presentations and meetings.
- Using evidence from your work and that of the team, highlighting areas of opportunity and concern and through appropriate channels
- Negotiate with and commission research external agencies (eg in relation to market research) as appropriate
- Participate in appropriate external professional networks to facilitate service benchmarking and improvement.
- Monitor and assess competitor behaviour, including new initiatives and developments.
- Contribute to the development of our portfolio, identifying market opportunities and initiatives, sharing these with stakeholders.
- Increase understanding of prospective student, current student and global audiences' behaviour of colleagues, providing insights from a range of sources, to support strategic objectives
- Promote good practice in data‑collection, evaluation and monitoring approaches.
- Drive the use of data and research in student recruitment and admissions decisions and processes.
- Any other duties as required including attendance at events and other critical business activity throughout the year including evenings and weekends.

- Knowledge and understanding of current issues in Higher Education, as well as policies and processes relating to student recruitment (admissions, student recruitment and widening participation) (Essential) (Application/interview)
- Experience of working in a market research role, delivering customer-facing research activity including, but not limited to; surveys, focus groups, interviews and other field work (Essential) (Application/interview)
- A high level of literacy and numeracy coupled with experience of producing analysis of data from multiple sources (Essential) (Application/interview)
- Demonstrable project management skills with proven evidence of measurable success (Essential) (Interview)
- Ability to understand and interpret the requirements of others and develop systems that meet the needs of key stakeholders (Essential) (Interview)
