Position Description
We are hiring a Sales Account Manager, Lab Chemicals. The Sales Account Manager, Lab Chemicals will be responsible for all sales operations of the division in the designated territory.
Responsibilities- Maintain professional and courteous communications with customers, vendors, Wako Japan, Wako Germany and other Wako USA departments via telephone, email, fax, or physical visit.
- Receive and promptly respond to customer inquiries, including technical questions when needed.
- Obtain market information from all possible sources.
- Issue price quotations.
- Initiate the negotiation of sales agreements.
- Establish and carry out sales strategies, action plans, and sales/expense plans.
- Follow up on sales/sample inquiries.
- Plan and carry out sales promotions.
- Occasionally prepare sales presentations.
- Plan business trips using economical means for transportation and reservations.
- Regularly attend meetings and prepare reports.
- Travel as required to attend Trade Shows, Conference Meetings, and visit customers; maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Remain in a designated location for prolonged periods during Trade Shows.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment while making business decisions on behalf of the Lab Chemicals Department.
- Work to guidelines dictated by business trends, the current marketing and sales plan, and established company policies.
- Possess independent judgment, creativity, and self‑motivation; be well organized and have strong relationship building skills with the ability to self‑manage time and travel schedules.
- Achieve 100% of the sales plan and expense plan.
- Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
- Plan, prepare, and coordinate regional trade show exhibits and promotional literature pertinent to the department’s products; conduct sales presentations containing technical data and information to customers.
- Negotiate and maintain sales agreements and contracts.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, practices, and work schedules necessary for normal sales office function; perform professionally in reporting and communicating with Upper Managers.
- Define markets with the highest product sales opportunities and create sales opportunities.
- Evaluate statistical data concerning profit and loss of customer revenues.
- Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Use disciplined organizational skills to prioritize, multitask, and accomplish goals within deadlines.
- BS degree or appropriate industry experience in a technical, scientific, or business discipline.
- 3+ years of experience within biosciences, preferably in lab chemicals.
- Knowledge and continuing education in regulatory areas.
- 5–10 years of sales experience within the field.
- Sales management experience is desired.
- Consistent track record in achieving sales targets.
- Intermediate to high level of sales and marketing techniques in a technical environment.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with diverse variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Basic arithmetic skills in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Highly motivated and goals‑oriented.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and adjust quickly.
- Customer focused with strong networking skills.
- Well organized.
- Ability to work with others and independently as required.
- Strong business acumen.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- CRM experience.
- English fluency in speaking, reading and communicating is a requirement; multilingual preferred.
- Good oral communication and presentation skills.
- The base salary range for this position is £53,720.10-£63.952.50. Compensation will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience, location, etc.).
