Fire Damper Engineer – Scenic Prop and Design

Responsibilities- Travelling regionally to a variety of sites to carry out testing, maintenance and installation of fire and smoke dampers.
- Handling tools of various types, including heavy equipment, and ensuring safe set‑up.
- Performing physical activities such as testing, maintaining and installing a wide range of fire and smoke damper systems.
- Adhering to safety guidelines while on the job site.
- Keeping all tools and equipment clean and in good repair.
- Removing debris and waste from the site.
- Ensuring all specifications are met, including industry best practice, manufacturers’ literature and standard product details.
- Accurately reporting all work using EDSBs reporting platform.
- Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services, including ventilation systems.
- Good practical skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience in the passive fire & fire stopping industry (beneficial).
- Recognised fire damper inspection qualification.
- Manual dexterity and coordination skills.
- Physical strength and stamina.
- Strong work ethic.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Reliability and initiative.
- Willingness to go the extra mile.
- Excellent time‑keeping and time‑management skills.
- Self‑motivated team player; demonstrates professionalism, positivity and proactiveness.
- Willingness to travel and stay away for jobs where necessary.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
Working hours are 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break. Salary will be discussed at interview stage.
Screening and ChecksSuccessful candidates will be required to undergo a BS7858 Employment Screening and an Enhanced DBS check.
