Sheffield City Council is delivering the SEQF Programme, supporting participants with learning disabilities, neurodiversity and/or autism to find and maintain employment. This role is a temporary position concluding on 31 March 2028.
ResponsibilitiesThe job coach will act as a mentor, helping clients identify their strengths and determine suitable job roles. The role involves working with employers to broker suitable vacancies, providing workplace support and encouraging clients to gain and maintain employment. The coach will travel across the City to meet clients in community settings and will use the BASE 5 stages of supported employment to guide intensive, often prolonged engagements with complex barriers to employment.
Training in Systematic Instruction will be provided to the successful candidate. The role requires managing a complex caseload, typically no more than 20 clients, and supporting individuals to overcome multiple or sustained employment barriers.
Qualifications & Requirements- Experience of working with individuals with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism
- Experience of supporting people into employment
- Ability to inspire and motivate people
- Ability to manage a complex caseload
- Resilience and determination
- Proficiency in MS Office and using CRM information systems

EmploymentDetails
Full‑time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks a year and are offered a generous holiday entitlement. Flexible working arrangements are available, including reduced‑hour contracts, part‑time or job share options.
Starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. Pay reviews will occur from 2026 and equality of pay is extremely important. All roles at Sheffield City Council are reviewed to ensure fair pay.
