Do you have a keen interest in mechanics, perhaps a Level 2 NVQ? This role can offer great learning and development for someone looking to further their career in engineering.
The Mechanical Service Assistant is to assist the engineering team in minor repairs and servicing, learning as you go and developing your skills further. This is an important role within our depot with great progression opportunities; we can provide all the tools and PPE for you to be successful in your role.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out minor vehicle repairs to keep our fleet moving.
- Carry out routine vehicle servicing in line with our standard operating procedures.
- Attend on‑road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries.
- Ensure all parts are booked out from stores using the correct procedure.
- Adhere to good housekeeping practices, including general tidiness in the workshop and returning all tools and equipment to their designated place.
- Take part in training and development to grow your skills.
- Work with full PPE and overalls provided.
- A basic knowledge of heavy motor vehicles is essential.
- A valid UK driving licence is essential.
- You must be able to work unsupervised or as part of a team.
- Possession of a PSV licence is desirable but not mandatory.
- You must be a UK resident and prove right to work status.

Location: Sheffield Olive Grove Depot, S2 3GA
Working Hours: 38.5 hours per week, 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm
Hourly Rate: £15.31 p/h (£30,650 p/a)
