HGV Class 1 Driver

HGV Class 1 Day Driver – Full time Ongoing Opportunity - Sheffield

Monday to Friday Days £17.93 per hour
Overtime £20.93 per hour after 40 hours worked per week

Pertemps Sheffield is currently recruiting HGV Class 1 Day Drivers for an ongoing opportunity with a leading utilities company based in Sheffield.

This is an excellent opportunity offering Monday to Friday day work only – no weekends or bank holiday working required.

The Role
Day shifts only

Monday to Friday

No weekend or bank holiday work

Ongoing opportunity

Deliver a wide range of goods, materials, plant and equipment to operational sites

Deliver and put away stock at various locations

Carry out stock checks and replenish engineer lockers and storage areas

Load and unload the vehicle safely

Deliver materials and equipment to live operational sites

Complete vehicle checks and ensure all paperwork is accurate

Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within stores and vehicles

Provide a high standard of customer service to engineers and internal stakeholders

Comply with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations

Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies at all times

Requirements
Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence

Valid Driver CPC

Valid Digital Tachograph Card

Ideally 2 years' Class 1 driving experience

No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)

Good geographical knowledge

Experience securing loads safely

Good understanding of Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph legislation

Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects

Excellent communication and customer service skills

A reliable, proactive and safety-conscious approach to work

No ADR licence required.
