About the Role

You will be part of a passionate and dedicated team responsible for providing safe and efficient aerodrome and approach radar services, controlling all air traffic arriving at and departing from Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

You will play a pivotal leadership role in establishing, delivering and sustaining the full training and competency for all ATCOs within the unit from airport greenfield opening to the future standard ATC operations. The post holder will be responsible for the development, production and future maintenance of the Unit Training Plan (UTP), Unit Competency Scheme (UCS) and all associated training documentation, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and the standards laid out by the CAA.

Working closely with colleagues, pilots, service providers and aviation partners, you will help deliver a comprehensive air traffic control service that supports the airport's growth and operational success. As the airport develops its aviation operations, you can expect to manage a diverse and evolving mix of air traffic within a dynamic operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • The assurance and continued development of the UTP, including delivery of unit training, mentoring, assessment, and long‑term management of the UTP.
  • The assurance and continued development and delivery of the UCS.
  • Liaison with CAA on all matters relating to ATCO training, validation boards, incident reviews and regulatory compliance.
