Management Accountant

Management Accountant CIMA Part-Qualified / Qualified by Experience Wellingborough | Part-Time (c. 3 Days Per Week Initially) Our client, a growing and forward-thinking accountancy firm, is seeking a Management Accountant to join its expanding outsourced finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong management accounting experience who is looking to broaden their commercial exposure and develop towards a Finance Business Partner or Financial Controller-style position.

Working across a portfolio of SME clients, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality management information while gaining increasing exposure to business owners and senior management teams. This is a role that goes beyond producing numbers, focusing on helping clients understand performance, identify opportunities, and make better commercial decisions.

Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts Manage month-end processes including journals, accruals and prepayments Produce and review balance sheet reconciliations Support year-end accounting requirements Prepare P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting Develop budgets, forecasts and cash flow forecasts Analyse variances and provide meaningful commentary Carry out product costing, margin and profitability analysis Produce financial models and management reports Support improvements to KPIs, reporting and financial controls Deliver financial analysis to support client decision-making The Opportunity As your understanding of clients and their businesses develops, you'll have the opportunity to:
Present financial results directly to clients Lead finance review meetings Provide commercial recommendations and challenge assumptions Identify risks and opportunities Support pricing, investment and growth decisions Develop meaningful KPIs and performance metrics Become a trusted adviser to business owners and senior stakeholders About You We're interested in speaking with candidates who are: CIMA Part-Qualified, ACCA Part-Qualified or Qualified by Experience Experienced in producing management accounts from start to finish Strong in budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management Confident with balance sheet control and month-end processes Advanced Excel users with strong analytical skills Experienced in costing, margin analysis or profitability reporting Commercially minded and naturally curious Comfortable explaining financial information to non-finance stakeholders Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Candidates from both industry and accountancy practice backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
