Physiotherapy Assistant

Join a Long Term Care facility in Shelburne, Ontario as a Physiotherapy Assistant. Support residents in their therapy goals and document progress under the guidance of a Physiotherapist.

This temporary position requires working closely with residents to implement prescribed treatment programs. As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you'll lead group exercises and one-on-one activities, encouraging resident engagement. Monitoring health status and reporting any changes is essential for maintaining quality care.

Your role will also involve performing specific treatments based on the Physiotherapist's direction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with conducting group exercises for residents

• Encourage and support residents in reaching therapy goals

• Document residents’ progress after each session

• Assist with walking, sitting, and safe transfers

• Monitor health status changes and report to supervisors

Requirements:

• Graduation as a Physiotherapy Assistant or equivalent

• Strong multi-tasking and communication skills

• Experience in Long Term Care settings is a plus

• Current police check for Vulnerable Sector

• Valid TB Test and Chest X-Ray required
