Accounting Manager

Spherion VT is seeking an Accounting Manager to work with a premier manufacturing organization based in Shelburne. This role oversees plant-level general accounting, month‑end closing, operational reporting, and credit operations while managing internal accounting staff and supporting leadership with actionable financial insights.

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and consolidated financial statements.
• Oversee manufacturing‑specific accounting operations, including standard costing, inventory valuation (raw materials, WIP, finished goods), Cap Ex tracking, and fixed assets.
• Manage day‑to‑day accounting staff, customer credit evaluation, and collections while ensuring strict adherence to internal controls, corporate policies, and external audit compliance.

• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credential is a plus.
• Prior experience managing internal controls and compliance audits in an organization subject to Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) or parent‑company operating standards.
• Experience with cross‑border trade transactions, including international billing, customs accounting, and multi‑state tax reporting.

• Demonstrated hands‑on accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of standard cost accounting and inventory controls.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex modeling, formulas, pivot tables) and direct experience working with integrated ERP systems.
• Proven supervisory capabilities with excellent communication skills to lead an accounting team and present financial findings to cross‑functional operational leaders.
