Your First Regional Driving Job Can Keep You in the West
This dry van opening welcomes qualified recent CDL-A graduates and combines paid training with Western regional freight, two-week home-time cycles and roughly 1,900-2,000 miles per week after training.
START WITH TRAINING
Complete approximately 3-5 weeks and 200-250 behind-the-wheel hours with an experienced driver. Utah trainee pay is $800 per week. Orientation lasts no more than two days, and the $300 orientation payment is paid upon hire.
SOLO PAY
- $1,200-$1,500 average weekly earnings
- $0.50 per mile at the six-month pay band
- $15 stop pay
- Driver performance bonus opportunity
WESTERN RUNNING AREA
Freight moves through Western markets including Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and California. Home time is every two weeks, with some opportunities for a 34-hour reset at home.
DRY VAN FREIGHT
- Drop-and-hook
- Live loads and live unloads
- No hand unloading
- Weekend and some holiday work
ASSIGNED EQUIPMENT
- Mainly Freightliner tractors
- Automatic and 10-speed manual transmissions
- Average tractor age approximately 1.5 years
- Permanently assigned truck - no slip seating

WHO QUALIFIES
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 120 hours from an accredited truck driving school
- CDL-A trainees with less than 6 months of recent driving experience are welcome
- Solid employment history without major unemployment gaps
- Acceptable MVR and driving record required
- Must pass a DOT-compliant pre-employment drug test
- Must meet all applicable driver qualification and hiring requirements
- Must be available for day/night driving and weekend work when required
