Validation Engineer

CIE USA-Century Plastics
, a division of the global enterprise CIE Automotive, is seeking a talented Validation Engineer to join our team.

Reports to: Product Engineering Team Lead / Director of Engineering

Primary

Purpose:

The Validation Engineer is responsible for verifying and validating various components, ensuring they meet customer requirements and perform as expected. The Validation Engineer is also responsible for developing, planning, and executing test plans using in-house or outside test labs. Summarizing, organizing, and presenting results for approvals is also responsibility.

Essential Functions:

• Understand customer specifications, engineering drawings and other requirements to integrate into DVP&R testing plans
• Provide Customer & Program Management with all information regarding testing and requirements. Work with CIE Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Tooling, as needed.
• Participate and provide input to team in part design and development to ensure requirements are met
• Develop DVP&R test plan requirements per part and obtain approvals from customer
• Source and direct both internal and external test lab execution
• Establish timing and execute testing plan to timing requirements of program
• Quote and Establish budgets for testing on new quoting, new award, and current programs
• Understand and provide guidance for CAE Simulations during DV Phase Validation
• Approve and/or troubleshoot test set-ups and test reports
• Subject expert for all customer performance specifications and testing requirements
• Develop and submit test reports for approval
• Request and help procure early build phase parts to deliver to test source
• Support development of DFMEAs with input on performance requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering/ Automotive Technology Related or Validation Work Experience Equivalent
• Looking for 5+ Years experience in Automotive with Interior/Exterior background preferred
• Strong organizational skills including open issues tracking, part tracking, etc.
• Effective communicator (both verbally and writing)
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient at Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Ability to manage and track multiple programs
• Strong background with component and vehicle system level testing

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift 30 lbs. occasionally (part, boxes, etc.)
• Must be able to travel within manufacturing environments (internally and externally)
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally with passport (primarily within United States, but also including Canada, Mexico, and Europe)
