Position: Direct Care Worker (DCW)

Location: Shelby Twp, MI

Shifts Available: Mornings, Afternoons, Midnights, & Weekends

Job Type: Full-time & Part-time

Reports To: Home Manager

Position Summary
  • Good pay & benefits!!
  • The position is responsible for providing a safe, secure, and healthy environment for residents while working toward goals in person‑centered plans.
  • Addresses the basic health, rights, privileges, and safety for all residents.
  • Interacts closely with residents and provides direct care as needed.
  • Works with and assists each resident to achieve individual goals.
  • Transports residents to outings in the community, appointments, etc.
Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • Sets positive examples for residents at all times.
  • Adheres to the person‑centered plans and behavior plans as written for each resident.
  • Provides opportunities throughout the day to help residents meet their goals.
  • Provides quality of care and a safe and healthy setting free from harm while upholding the rights of all residents.
  • Protects all residents from abuse and/or neglect and immediately reports any occurrence to appropriate entities.
  • Maintains and protects the confidentiality of all residents.
  • Follows and upholds all house guidelines.
  • Cooks meals as necessary for residents based upon food specifications and diets.
  • Completes required documentation before the end of shift, including, but not limited to, progress notes, miscellaneous notes, daily support logs, event reports, incident reports, LOA forms, resident inventories, etc.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of home site according to the assignment chart (Inspection ready at all times).
  • Administers medications as needed.
  • Hands off communication to next shift staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Adheres to Integrated Living’s Core Values, Mission Statement, and Corporate Philosophies.
Education & Qualifications
  • MORC, WCLS, &/or TTI training is preferred but can be provided.
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license.
