Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Process Controls Engineer to join our aerospace materials team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative production processes for efficient and economical mass production.
This role offers the opportunity to work on major capital investment projects, lead interdisciplinary teams, and make a direct impact on production efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities- Design and improve manufacturing equipment controls to optimize production processes.
- Plan production sequences, specify fabrication procedures, and adapt machinery to factory conditions.
- Conduct tests at all production stages to ensure process control and troubleshoot production issues.
- Provide technical guidance to product design teams regarding equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Lead or mentor less-experienced employees and manage vendor relationships.
- Participate in the development and design of controls for Greenfield sites.
- Prepare project documentation, including SOPs, operations manuals, and training materials.
- Manage RFQs, SOWs, vendors, and contractors, including workflow reviews and equipment installation.
- Assist with capital budgeting, cost control, and ROI analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Software, Manufacturing, or Engineering (or equivalent work experience & certifications).
- 5+ years of experience in industrial project management or process controls.
- Experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing process design and optimization.
- U.S. Citizen, Green Card holder, or political asylee/refugee.
- Familiarity with GE Proficy.
- Greenfield site project experience.
- Technical leadership of small engineering/technician teams.
- Vendor management and capital project execution experience.
- PLCs (Allen Bradley, other PLCs)
- GE Proficy (preferred)
