- Location: Shelby, North Carolina 28150
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 32 beds
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
- Start Date: October 6, 2025
- End Date: January 3, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1570 - $1680
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays during contract
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Parking: Free onsite
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
- Minimum 18 months of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Clinical skills in tracheostomy care, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, blood product administration, wound care, and central line management
- Ability to float within region and scope of practice (including Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Central Division)
- Experience with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors preferred
- Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU patients with diagnoses such as CHF, dysrhythmia, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory illness, diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, and more
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage cardiac drips and advanced therapies
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, and manage central lines and chest tubes
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
- Float to other nursing units or facilities within the region as needed
- Participate in facility and departmental orientation
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards
