RN Job Details
  • Location: Shelby, North Carolina 28150
  • Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (August 25, 2025 – November 22, 2025)
  • Healthcare Setting: 32-bed Progressive Care Unit in a 241-bed hospital (Level 3 Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center)
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
  • Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Expectations: Work 75% of holidays during contract
  • Scrub Color: Navy
  • Parking: Free onsite parking
  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1570 - $1680
PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 18 months of recent Progressive Care Unit RN experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Proficient in tracheostomy care, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, blood product administration, wound care, and central line management
  • Experience with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
  • Ability to float to other units and facilities within the region as needed
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
PCU RN Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients with CHF, dysrhythmias, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory issues, diabetes, kidney disease, and substance withdrawal
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage cardiac drips
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, and manage central lines and chest tubes
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
  • Accurately document patient care and interventions in EPIC EMR
  • Float to other units or facilities within the region as required
  • Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training to ensure best practices
