American Traveler is seeking an RN
- Med/Surg Tele with 18 months of Med/Tele experience and a NC or compact RN license for a 12-hour night shift contract role.

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a Level 3 Trauma, Certified Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center hospital
• 24-bed unit with an average daily census of 24
• Patient population includes cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and various observation diagnoses in a fast-paced environment
• RN to patient ratio of 1:5-6 (up to 1:7-8 during surge staffing), CNA ratio 1:12
• 12-hour night shifts ), 36 hours per week, on a 6-week schedule cycle
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Possibility of low census call, with call-back up to 3a for nights and 3p for days
• Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division - CMC Main, Mercy, LCH) as needed and within scope of practice
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Massimo monitors in all rooms
• Support staff includes CNAs, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, 24/7 RT, hospitalist (onsite days, virtual nights), 24/7 intensivist, and remote telemetry monitoring

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience required
• At least 6 months of EPIC EMR experience required
• Skilled in cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), IV starts, blood product administration, and wound care/dressing changes
• General medical/surgical skillset including care of patients with tubes and drains
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

• Provide direct nursing care for Med/Surg Telemetry patients with diverse and complex diagnoses
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; unmet contracted hours must be added to the end of the assignment
• Navy scrub color required
• Free parking available onsite
• Unit culture described as positive and supportive

• Previously separated employees from an AHSE facility must have at least 1 year separation from a permanent position before reapplying
