American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 18 months of Med/Tele experience and a NC or compact RN license.

• 24-bed Med/Surg Tele unit within a Level 3 Trauma, Certified Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center hospital
• Fast-paced unit treating various diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, and neuro patients, primarily observation status
• RN to patient ratio of 1:5-6 (day and night), with potential surge ratios up to 1:7-8
• CNA to patient ratio of 1:12
• 12-hour night shift schedule ), 36 hours per week on a 6-week schedule cycle
• Support staff includes CNAs, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, 24/7 RT and intensivist, on-site/virtual hospitalist, and remote telemetry monitoring with tele tech
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Massimo monitors in all rooms
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• Low census call possible, with call-back up to 3am for nights and 3pm for days
• Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division: CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) as needed and within scope of practice

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Minimum 6 months of EPIC EMR experience required
• Basic Med/Tele skillset required, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), IV starts, blood product administration, and wound care/dressing changes
• General medical/surgical skillset required, including care of patients with tubes and drains
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required

• Provide Med/Surg Tele level care to patients with various diagnoses in a fast-paced environment
• Orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation
• Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; unmet contracted hours must be added to the end of the contract
• Navy scrub color required
• Free parking available on site
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted; a 50-mile radius rule applies
• Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
