Join Our Team as a Controls Engineer:

We’re seeking a talented Controls Engineer to join our growing automation team at Acieta! In this role, you’ll design, program, and implement custom automation systems that bring advanced manufacturing solutions to life. You’ll take projects from concept to installation, provide hands‑on technical support to customers, and ensure every system performs at its best. What

You Get to Do:
  • Design and program PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems that bring automation to life.
  • Integrate advanced technologies like robotics, vision, and motion control for cutting‑edge solutions.
  • Lead system testing, debugging, and validation to ensure flawless performance.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to meet goals, solve challenges, and deliver results.
  • Support system design and hardware development from concept through completion.
  • Travel to customer sites (approximately 50%) for hands‑on installation, startup, and customer support.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers while continuing to grow your own technical expertise.
  • Champion safety and teamwork to maintain a positive, productive work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably related to the scope of the position and necessary for business operations.
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Willingness to commute to Shelbyville, IN 3+ days per week
  • Desire to travel to customer sites up to 50% to support debugging and installation efforts.
  • Willingness to work in a Hybrid Environment
  • Engineering degree or equivalent hands‑on experience in automation (5+ years).
  • 5 years’ experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, HMI, motion control, and robotic systems.
  • Strong experience programming and integrating Fanuc or Kuka robots.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, debugging, and supporting on‑site system installations.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and fabrication drawings.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and safety standards.

  • Visual acuity to read technical documents, operate machinery, and perform detailed work safely.
