About the RoleAs a Warehouse Supervisor
, you’ll coordinate warehouse operations, lead a team, and ensure safe and efficient shipping and receiving of inventory. You’ll work with Purchasing, Sales, and Transportation to optimize space, meet customer demands, and maintain high safety and organization standards. This is an opportunity to lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing team in a dynamic warehouse setting.
- Team Leadership:
Direct and supervise warehouse employees to meet customer demands, coach for performance improvement, and address disciplinary matters when necessary. - Safety First:
Conduct monthly safety inspections, implement safety protocols, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse. - Inventory Management:
Oversee cycle counts and inventory loss prevention; ensure stock is organized for maximum efficiency. - Customer Focus:
Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries, in collaboration with Transportation. - 6S and Lean Practices:
Maintain 6S in the warehouse, coach on 6S principles, and apply Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to improve processes. - Operational Excellence:
Coordinate with Maintenance for repairs, ensure availability of warehouse consumables, and manage daily operations in a fast-paced environment. - Union
Collaboration:
Work professionally with union leadership, ensuring alignment with the terms of the CBA.
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in inventory management.
- At least 2 years of experience leading, coaching, and supervising a team.
- Experience in union environments is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in SAP and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding of HSE and safety standards, warehouse procedures, and 6S principles.
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and forklift operation/safety.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and active listening skills.
- Flexibility to work additional hours, including mandatory overtime, and travel 10-15% of the time.
