The RoleAs a Maintenance Technician (Night shift) at IPL you will perform preventative maintenance, respond to daily priorities within the maintenance department, identify potential equipment problems and correct them, maintain equipment so as not to impede the production process, prepare plant equipment and facilities for production, respond to equipment failures or facilities problems in a timely manner, inform the manager or lead when replacement parts are used from inventory, troubleshoot equipment and recommend corrective action, identify equipment problems in a timely and accurate manner, implement contingency plans to keep production running, maintain work areas to keep them free of trip hazards and other safety issues, and ensure tools and auxiliary equipment are returned to their proper place after a job or project is completed or after a mold change is complete.
You will also clean the machinery as necessary, comply with safety standards, follow lock out/tag out procedures, comply with OSHA safety standards, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform preventative maintenance.

- Inform manager or lead when critical replacement parts are used from inventory.
- Troubleshoot equipment and recommend corrective action.
- Identify equipment problems in a timely and accurate manner.
- Implement contingency plans for keeping production running.
- Maintain work areas to keep them free of trip hazards and other safety issues.
- Ensure tools and auxiliary equipment are returned to their proper place after a job or project is completed or after a mold change is complete.
- Clean the machinery as necessary.
- Comply with safety standards.
- Lock out/tag out procedures are always followed.
- OSHA safety standards are always complied with.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Role
- Associate degree in Maintenance Technician or related field (work experience may substitute).
- 5+ years of experience in Injection Mold design and processing, preferably in the plastics industry.
- Ability to work with a variety of outside contractors.
- Experience as a Maintenance Technician in the plastics industry preferred.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Safety and Quality Standards knowledge.
- Basic math skills.
- Forklift operations experience.
- Basic mechanical skills.
- General computer skills.
- Crane operations experience.
- General maintenance skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Must be able to work at heights.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment that is aggressive and fast paced.
- Must respond to frequently changing priorities.
- Injection Mold experience is a plus.
