What You’ll Be DoingThis role oversees all engineering operations for aerospace component manufacturing, ensuring projects meet rigorous standards for quality, safety, and compliance.
Combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities by managing plant engineering, developing a high‑performing team, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams and customers to deliver cost‑efficient, innovative solutions that support organizational growth.

- Lead engineering activities and provide specialized expertise across all project phases.
- Execute new projects on time and within budget, ensuring optimal equipment selection and process design to meet stringent industry standards.
- Aligning engineering processes, initiatives, and projects with aerospace strategic objectives, ensuring compliance with company vision, mission, and values.
- Engage in safety, continuous improvement, and robust, repeatable processes that meet high aerospace standards.
- Provide clear and timely updates across all organizational levels, including progress reports, identified challenges, and proposed solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with corporate engineering teams—such as controls, toolroom & design, maintenance, and finance—to align objectives and achieve shared goals.
- Interview, hire, onboard, and mentor team members to build a high‑performing team.
- Plan, assign, and direct work; conduct performance evaluations; administer rewards and disciplinary actions; and resolve employee concerns promptly and effectively.
- Encourage cross‑training and skill development to enhance team flexibility and operational resilience.
- Support ongoing training and professional development initiatives to strengthen individual capabilities and overall team performance.
- Proactively plan ahead, anticipate challenges, and implement solutions.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, concise language that is easily understood by all team members, fostering alignment and informed decision‑making.
- Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies to support capacity expansion and productivity improvements.
- Assist in planning or taking ownership of capital expenditure (CAPEX) initiatives to ensure alignment with operational and financial objectives.
- Review and provide final approvals on Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to maintain quality standards and regulatory compliance.
- Travel as needed to customer and supplier locations to strengthen partnerships and address technical matters, ensuring alignment and mutual success.
- Provide responsive engineering assistance to ensure division goals are consistently met.
- Align engineering resources with operational priorities to maintain efficiency and meet company requirements.
This position will primarily work eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs and will primarily be day‑time hours but may occasionally work or travel nights and weekends for events and special projects.
Education & Experience- BS Engineering or equivalent and minimum of 3 – 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prefer MS or MBA or actively pursuing a degree.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in a metal fabrication/ manufacturing environment, including experience in a job shop and machining. Experience launching new products and working with customer‑provided specifications and designs.
- 1 – 3 years supervisor/management experience, leadership skills with teambuilding experience.
- Prefer: aerospace industry experience, metal forming, preferably aluminum or titanium; and quality systems experience, AS9100 and/or ISO.
