Base pay range: $17.00/hr - $20.50/hr

Walgreens offers an “earn while you learn” Pharmacy Technician Training Program recognized by ASHP & the Department of Labor. This apprenticeship prepares you for PTCB certification and helps you advance in the pharmacy care industry.

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and in other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions; coach staff in system use if PTCB certified.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by greeting customers, resolving issues, and sharing best practices.
• Enter patient and drug information accurately, fill prescriptions, verify medicine, and check for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to quality improvement program.
• Maintain cash register operations, process manual claims, and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and documenting shipment discrepancies.
• Assist in clinical services, collection and labeling of samples, and coordinate with healthcare providers.
• Maintain the pharmacy area’s cleanliness, safety, and inventory of supplies.
• Complete special assignments and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.
• Attend manager‑requested training and acquire continuing education credits.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• At least six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Strong computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
