The City of Shelbyville’s Public Works Department is accepting applications for a maintenance technician.

General Duties:

This position is supervised by the superintendent of public works, and will be responsible for a variety of skilled and unskilled general maintenance duties including, but not limited to:

Construction
Cleaning, and/or maintaining buildings, roadways, storm sewers, road signs, etc.
Removing snow and ice
Operating, cleaning, and storing motorized equipment assigned to the department
Cutting or trimming trees, limbs, weeds, brush, and grass
Collecting trash
Flexibility to work during emergency weather conditions and other special events is a must

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or general educational development certificate, supplemented by at least some related work experience.

Additional Requirements:

Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky within six months to oneyear from date of hire.

Salary Information: $17.05 - $22.40/hour, based on related work experience. Excellent benefits.
