Shift Schedule7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., M, T, W, F
Seeking Experience- Proficiency in suturing and experience functioning as a true First Assist throughout surgical procedures.
- No call
- Intermittent late stay required
$55 per hour
Qualifications- Graduate of an approved specific discipline OR successful completion of a surgical assistant training program while serving in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Minimum 3 years relevant work experience.
- Registration with the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.
- Certification: CST or TS‑C and one of the following: CSFA (NBSTSA), CSA (NSAA), SA‑C (ABSA), or equivalent.
- Assist in operating room preparation, setup, and cleanup.
- Assist with patient positioning to maximize safety and comfort.
- Maintain a surgically clean environment to reduce infection risk.
- Initiate appropriate intraoperative behaviors unique to first assisting.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
- Surgical Equipment Knowledge (Intermediate) – Mastery of equipment, performance criteria, and problem resolution.
- Procedures Knowledge (Intermediate) – Mastery of procedural knowledge, training, and leadership.
- Operating Room Care (Intermediate) – Mastery of OR care, training, and leadership.
- Environmental Sterility & Safety (Intermediate) – Mastery of sterility and safety practices.
- Inventory Management (Novice) – Fundamental proficiency, basic tools, and stock reconciliation.
- Surgical Technology (Intermediate) – Mastery of surgical technology and leadership.
- Equipment Maintenance (Intermediate) – Preventive maintenance expertise.
- Independently perform non‑routine tasks with significant impact.
- Analyze data to solve problems with little or no precedent.
- Apply advanced job knowledge and provide guidance to team members.
- Supporting Colleagues – develop self and others, build relationships, communicate effectively.
- Delivering Excellent Services – serve with compassion, solve complex problems, offer meaningful advice.
- Ensuring High Quality – perform excellent work, continuous improvement, safety compliance.
- Managing Resources Effectively – demonstrate accountability, steward resources, data‑driven decisions.
- Fostering Innovation – generate new ideas, apply technology, adapt to change.
- Certifications:
NCCSA, NSAA, NABSTSA, ABSA, licensed in Tennessee. - Experience:
Minimum 3 years relevant work experience. - Education:
Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program.
