Resident Engineer – Bridge Construction (Transportation)

GPI seeks resident engineers for our Shelton, CT office. Responsibilities include supervising professional or technical staff and managing the day-to-day activities related to construction management and administrative/financial matters for assigned projects.

• Verify that construction is performed per contract documents, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
• Manage inspection services to achieve on‑time and on‑budget completion.
• Review and ensure daily narratives, daily labor, and time and material reports are completed accurately and timely.
• Coordinate construction work with facility operations, maintenance, other contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Review contract drawings for constructability, staging, and logistics.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field.
• 15+ years of experience in multi‑discipline transportation construction projects for CTDOT with an emphasis on bridge rehabilitation and reconstruction.
• A licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• Movable bridge experience is a plus.
• Project experience in excess of $30 million is preferred.
• Knowledge in using Microsoft Office, Primavera, Site Manager, SharePoint, and/or other contract management software.
